Last year, I launched a reading club for first and second graders at my school to help students strengthen their reading skills and build confidence. The club provides a supportive environment where young learners can improve academically, fostering their growth through guided reading sessions and engaging activities.

Why did I start the club?
After COVID-19, many foreign students left China, and a large number of students with parents who don’t speak English as a first language joined the school. Inspired by my younger cousins’ experiences, I realized that many of these students lacked support at home for reading and homework. Understanding how crucial early literacy is for academic success, I took the initiative to create a club that could bridge this gap and support their learning journey.
